Default Flight Mode on JR X9303

I'm trying to switch my JR to use the Flight Mode switch instead of the individual switches for the Dual Rate, but I can't see it in my menu. I'm looking in the device sel. menu but I don't see where I can switch the Dual Rate. The manual lacks some info. Thanks.

Look at page A-7 heading "To Activate Flight Modes" it actually shows you the screens to go to and what to select.

I have two XP9303 Tx's.

You need to go into Device Select and Enable Flight Modes. You can choose Flap Switch or Aux2 Switch to change Flight Modes. Both are 3 position switches
In the Lower Left, you will see D/R parameter. Choose FM which stands for Flight Modes.
I am not sure if you need to disable the Flap System, as that, by default, is operated by the Flap Switch.

Now, when you go to the D/R screen, you can set different D/R for each Flight Mode

Thanks BuschBarber, exactly what I needed. I didn't know I had to enable a switch before I could change D/R to Flight Mode. Thanks!

Anybody know how to bump up the idle in flight at all without having to use the trim?

u can use the gear switch and do a gear to throttle mix with a -5-15 number should get u a bump up. start the motor us to adjust it to the rpm needed. turn the gear switch off when landing....

No luck, I am using the gear switch for the choke servo. I will see what other mix I can use. Maybe flaps. Thanks for the idea.

Not sure why they don't have the idle-ups like on the heli's. Very handy.

I did it a bit differently...

I used a throttle/throttle mix for my flight idle (that's what I call it like the flight idle settings on a full scale turboprop) and assign it to a switch. Look through your mixes as different mixes give you access to different switches and see if you can find a mix that gives you access to the switch you want. You may not be able to access the exact switch, but something close.

Be aware that you'll have to inhibit that channel/switch before it will show up in the possiblities on the mixes.

I can't remember exactly which switch I used as I sold my X9303 when my 12X got here, or I'd go into more detail but I'm sure you can figure it out with a bit of tinkering.

OH, there is another possiblity as well and I've started using it on my 12X, just setup a throttle curve on a switch with the bottom setting a tad higher than your normal settings and it'll idle the engine up too....

Thanks Zeeb, I bumped up the throttle in Flight Mode 1 and 2 using the throttle curve. I'm used to Futaba, I find it easier, but the JR has more features.

It is a bit of a learning curve speaking as a former Futaba user myself, but it does get easier when you get more familiar with the radio and how JR does things vs. Futaba....
