RF Filters
I saw that JR is selling RF Filters that get wrapped around servo leads. They say they suck all the stray EMI and RF out of your leads. Since I just got my first gas engine and am worried about interference from the electronic ignition. Does anyone know is these things really work.
Thanks

RF Filters
Yes, they do help, although it's probably cheaper to buy them from a no-name electronics company (you should be able to find something local) Just ask for ferrite bead filters. They're not going to be 100% cure though, especially from a close electrical pop like a gasser, there's no way to 100% filter out something that's happening that close.

Yes... they can be very effective. But there are a thousand different flavors of ferrite beads. Some ferrite formulations will be effective for ignition noise suppression and some won't. You can read up on the subject at www.fair-rite.com
Probably best to buy beads intended for RC use and use as instructed unless you want to take the time to become a noise suppression expert.
