Re: digital servos-what does HRS mean?
I just purchased Futaba digital servos (S9452) and the insert in the packet stated for best performance, to be used with radio systems that are FM, PCM, or HRS. What in the world does HRS mean? Are these servos suitable for 2.4 FASST systems? I'm using a Futaba 10C radio system on 2.4 MHg.
Thanks,

I'm not sure what HRS stands for but considering that 2.4 ghz FASST is the most current radio hardware available I could only assume that those are capable.

actually did some research. check your 2.4 FASST receiver. The digital servos work on a high resolution signal. You set it in the radio and use a certain plug in the receiver for each digital servo. Its in the manual and labelled on the receiver.

That must be the 2048 PCM.. Interesting.

Not sure if other rx's are out, but Futaba came out with a new 6014HS as part of the ongoing overheating issues with that rx, all the different colored dots on 'em and so forth.
Any way 6 of the ports on that rx are capable of running higher speeds to the servos while the other ports remain at a conventional response rate, of course Futaba says you have to use their HRS servos. Not sure how that works out with mating other channels??????
So it's actually an effort to reduce latency, not increase resolution.

HRS is a feature of Futaba's R/C CAR transmitters. It stands for "High Response System". According to Futaba, HRS has a higher-speed FM signal that includes faster processing in the receiver. You MUST use digital servos when operating in HRS mode. Non-digital servos cannot accept the faster update speed of the control signals.
