One Heck of a Radio Glitching Problem
I think I have lost two planes because of a glitch in my radio or a bad receiver.
Radio Futaba 9C, Receiver Futaba R127.
I was setting up a new plane getting ready to fly. Everything was fine during setup. After the engine started it was a whole new ball game. At idle things were ok. But whenever I started to run up the throttle a little bit all the surfaces and throttle started shimmying really badly. Needless to say we did not try to fly.
Anyone got an idea what this might be.

I had the same problems after crashing my airplane. All servos were moving crazily even when I made "a click" on my receiver.
Probably broken ceramic filters.

One Heck of a Radio Glitching Problem
Well after reading all this I can see I have been living on barrowed time with the R127. I lost my Majestic with this receiver in it. flying straight down the runway the plane started going crazy, rudder flapping back and forth and then lost it. When I checked everything out all seemed well so we just thought we had gotten a hit from someplace. It is clear now that this receiver probably belongs in the trash.

I do not concur with sending it in for repair. I have read all those old posts about the R127's and how some are fine and some are crap and who knows what the truth is. I actually have other 127's that are fine in a couple of smaller cheaper planes.
But I now realize I have had weird things happen to planes that had a particular 127 in them.
If you already got the 127 and it is working fine, don't worry. But if you have had a problem, why spend any money fixing it. Bite the bullet and buy a higher quality Rx. Throw in dual elevator servos, a voltwatch, etc; the 127 doesn't cut it anyway. Most of my planes need about 8 channels if I don't want to use Y's.
