Default receiver antenna

Got a couple of receivers with the antenna broken off-
is it ok to solder them back on? Will it affect range or cause any other problems? Seems like everyone has a different opinion about this...
thanks WW

I tried one on time. Seemed to work ok. Futaba makes replacement antennas for their rxs. I used a piece of speaker wire (cant remember the size or length). As long as you have the size and length correct, their is no reason why it shouldn't work.

You can use any wire that is 39 to 41 inches long, not critical. Best to use multistrand flexable (to prevent breakage later) of 26 to 22 gauge. Most hobby shops stock replacement antenna wire.
