Default DX7 unbinding

Hi All,

I discovered something today that may help some of you. I lost the bind between my DX7 and AR7000 RX. First time it has ever happened. I fly five planes with it. After a successful flight, I turned off my TX and RX to do some linkage adjusting. I turned my TX back on and then my RX and there was no connection. Tried several times and nothing. This scared the crap out of me cause this has never happened. After doing some research I found that the bind button on the back of the DX7 sticks out just enough that if you lay it down on a flight stand, table, or bench in a certain way, the weight of the TX will depress the bind button. If you turn on your TX while in this position you will loose bind. After thinking about it, that is exactly what I did at the field. I set it down on a part of the flight stand that has 3/4 inch rails along the sides and the rail is what presses the bind button in. I now am going to install something around the bind button so this will not happen again. I like my DX7 but the design of the bind button is poor.

Tom, I had the same thing happen to me. I had lost bind so many times that I was considering buying a new transmitter. I discovered the problem with the bind button somewhere here on RCU. I've not had a problem since.....RS

Been there.

I appreciate the info about the DX7. This has happened to me once. As a caution I sent all 6 of my Spektrum Rx to Horizon to have them checked and have their firmware upgraded.
