Default Amherst Nitro Challenge 2!!!

Just a reminder to everybody that there will be a race on Sunday Sept 11th at the Blueridge R/C Raceway in Amherst, Virginia!! The last race went extremely well, and we hope to have more racers for this event!! I have posted the event in the event section and you can also check it out at www.blueridgeraceway.com

We need ALL of the area racers to come out and show your skills!!

Thanks guys....should be a great time!!

--Dave, I can get some pics up on that next week. I am up to my ears in soccer at the moment. The track should be in great condition. My brother is looking to get something to suppress the dust also. If we do not get any rain next week, I will be out there keeping moisture in the track. It was just too dry last time. Wouldn't hold moisture.

I won't be able to make it up there (C'vill) this weekend. Looks like the in-laws are coming in for a visit. You would think I would be in loop about these things!! [&:]

Keep practicing!!! I believe I had the longest end over end roll last week. Could be a record. Your wall slap was pretty impressive though.........all four wheels left an impression!! [&:]

Nah -- I have seen 503 go much further on an end over end before! He came off of the triple and cartwheeled over the ditch and 1/2 way down the other end............pretty impressive!!! Wayne is pretty good at that too -- I used to be good at it - but the competition was just getting too hot

There have been some nice tumbles but I think one of the most spectacular was by 503 . When we put the straight away back in and didn't have the pvc pipe in there yet he got the wheel stuck in the end of one of the pipe and basically polevaulted his buggy about 3ft in the air and then tumbled into the woods.

Alright everybody, I fixed the landing jump, and tweaked the big jump today. Also made the single a double......thinking about making it a triple tomorrow. I will get pictures up of it tomorrow afternoon, so you can have a good idea of what it looks like now.

Joe that is good news! Thanks for taking the 8th scale buggies into consideration during your track build - we all appreciate it.

You putting one of those soaker hoses out on the track to make it nice and damp?

We are all looking forward to the race.

It won't let me upload pics...will try again later. On a side note, Donald called me this afternoon and confirmed the lap counting system for Sunday. Also, we will be grilling hamburgers and hotdogs w/ chips and drinks for the racers (included in racing price) so bring an appetite!!! People not racing can purchase food for a small price.

WOW....what a great day of racing!! I want to thank Donald from Roanoke Race Club for running another perfect race. It could not have gone any smoother.

Stampy....you could not find a better person to sponser a race. $60, $50, $40 for 1st - 3rd and $50 for TQ AND he has a store on sight for all your racing and bling bling needs!! Again thanks a million Stampy!!! (*ATTENTION LOCAL DRIVERS* Stampy is looking to open a store in the Madison Heights/Lynchburg area!! We really need to show support to him and each other and get together and make it worth it for him!!! How nice would it be to have a full R/C shop in this area!!)

We had a total of 18 cars racing (12 buggies and 6 MT). Not a bad day. Hopefully we can have an even bigger turnout next time. I will have 1 more "big" race this year at Blueridge in October. Hopefully all of the local drivers can get together next Sunday at the CVRC race at Mikes house and plan a date and really get a big event planned. This would be a great opportunity to get ALL of the area racers together in one spot and have a huge day of racing. This would be a free event for the racers. Just a great time to get together for some fun!!

Congrats to the Charlottesville racers for 1st - 6th in the buggy class all running Kyoshos!!! We (locals) need to stop this massive show of force next time!! I tried my best, but I don't think I scared them too much [&o]. Thats OK though, we got them in the trucks!!!

Thanks Mike, glad you had a good time. Also glad you made it....you needed some fun after Friday!!! I think a good time was had by all. Good clean racing all day. That's what it is all about. Glad I didn't mess Joel up in the B Main....we seemed to have "locking bumper" syndrome for awhile!! Sorry Joel!!
