Amherst, VA.....October Race
I was just thinking about the race in October (no date has been set yet), and I came across a few ideas. Let me know what you think (good or bad)
1. No entry fee
2. Because it is free, no trophies or prizes. Maybe a drawing for the racers??
3. Free food (same as last time, hamburgers/hotdogs, chips, drinks free for racers, $2 for non-racers except Stampy )
4. Swap Meet (for people looking to trade/bargain/buy/sell). Don't forget people, Stampy wheels and deals too!!!!
5. Same format as last time, (2) 5 min qualifers, 10 min B Main, 20 min A Main
6. Classes include: Production MT (small and big block together), Unlimited MT, 1/8 Buggy (open).
Let me know what you think, and if you have any more serious ideas let me know. This will be the last "big" race for me this year. This would be more of a get together, race and trade show type of event. I have soccer through the beginning of November and my time is VERY spread out right now.

RE: Amherst, VA.....October Race
I am not looking to make money from this track. It is a public recreation area just like the fields/basketball courts. Just looking to generate enough to warrent the website, and existence of the track. That has been accomplished this year in the two events. A Board of Supervisor member came by the Sept 11 race and was very impressed with the way things were going with the race. I really don't think they thought it would generate much interest (they really didn't even know what I was talking about) when I presented it to them. I paid for it within my budget (I saved money from soccer/basketball) and didn't ask for any money for it. That is the only reason it exists.
Now I get to give back to the racers who have supported the track. Thanks Mike and Christian for stating you would donate/pay for support. You already have, as has everybody else that has raced this year!!!! This is just going to be a fun, kick***** event!!!!

I'll watch a jumping competition --------- but I have a son in college, I don't think that I can afford to enter that one.
HEY BILL --- you took some big sky at the June race off of that jump --- you interested?

Early this year , Me and two buddies was screwing around with those black plastic bike ramps . We took two and set them up on old tires. Your talking 20-25 feet in the air. You had too look up to level it off before you landed. Now thats fun. We did that about half that day. We were running a T-MAXX, and two Revos. I personally burned about $25.00 bucks in parts!

OH I love to see them fly --- particularly when they belong to someone else!!!! Christian (SManMTB) is correct -- it is the landing I am worried about. The soft suspension of the Kyosho's just doesn't do well with big air. Now my old Ofna MBX - maybe that thing would do ok.

How does October 23rd sound for everybody??
The jumping contest will be a non-sanctioned event (I want NOTHING to do with the carnage). I have enough trouble keeping it together going down the backstretch. [&:]
