RE: SLASH RACING in POWHATAN VA.
I decided to get back into the RC hobby. I just ordered a Traxxas Slash and a Traxxas Slash 4x4. Would I be able to race my Slash 2wd if I install the Traxxas Velineon Brushless System?
Thanks
Calvin

RE: SLASH RACING in POWHATAN VA.
The track was indeed in great shape this Sunday and I really enjoyed the enhanced layout.
Just to be clear, it was HokieSteven that Dennis was referring to with all of the wins. Nice racing Steven! He has clearly got his truck dialed in with those 7 cell Nimhs and his STOCK tires and was driving very consistently, which of course was probably the biggest difference maker. The track was also super tacky, which made a difference too. I think the pin style tires would be more of an advantage over stock on dry, dusty summer type track conditions.
I was still adjusting to the first day on new tires. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
I really enjoyed the way the truck drove with the buggy tires/adapters and I know that Dennis did too. I don't think that he buggy wheels give you an advantage over the SC size wheels when both have buggy type pin tires. Dale was running the Goosebump tires on SC wheels and I think the traction was similar. In other words - I don't think the larger diameter wheel provides any significant advantage, I think it's the tire tread style and compound that really matters.
I guess the trick is how many different classes do we want to have. I'm still not sure whether I want to drop the $150 on a brushless setup, although the tire upgrade definitely makes me want more power!!! I think a class with open tires and slighly upgraded brushed motors would be sweet. Minimum additional investment, but more speed and more traction.

RE: SLASH RACING in POWHATAN VA.
Wow, looks like ya'll have a selection of tires ya'll are trying, cool.....
Sorry I did not make it, I have a new engine for my Sand Rail I have been putting together
thus have not had time for Slash fun... Soon that will be done then I should be able to get back
to hanging out some...
I did read were the question about getting a Brushless System is worth the money, well let me say this,
once you go brushless, and especially with the tires all of you have been playing with to get more traction,
the combo with the brushless is Ultra-Fun.. Very fast and lots more torque off the line were you can benefit
from the tires ya'll are selecting.... Thus getting the traction on exhilaration and in the corners... So, why not
get the most from your Slash, plus we know about motor reliability as well with both the stock vs. brushless..
By the way, i am just running a set of Bow Ties on the rear, my plan is to just get another set of Bow Ties for the
front.. Guess I may have to now so I can compete with yall for it looks like to me all of yall have upgraded to pins
of some sort on the front and rear... Very Cool...... :-)
Have a good day guys, hope to be able to get out with yall soon, just have to finish up my new engine swap in my
Rail to get it out of the way, then maybe I will have funds to play... Oh, did an engine upgrade in the rail to double my
horsepower,lol.. Would post a photo to use for my Avatar, but have not been able to re-size any photos to get R/C Universe to accept
one for my Avatar Use, tricky I think to get photos on to R/C Universes forums, ect.......
Smiles,
RailBoy

RE: SLASH RACING in POWHATAN VA.
Dennis I look on eBay and found some Venom lipo packs 5000mah.
I did a review online and they said that the venom batterys are not good lipos and they said so thing like Smc lipos are better batterys and will last me longer what do you think?
I am looking for a battery for $100 or less if any of you have any ideas please let me know.
Here is a like to the Smc lipo-
