Default Ass. 12 engine fun...

A friend of mine bought an RTR TC3 about a year ago. It ran great right out of the box. Well, he drove it maybe 10 times before he stored it. Not sure if he used after-run oil, the answer to that is pending. So I pull it out of mothballs so to speak, and it won't run for crap. At first, it felt really gummy(still has pull start). But after a few new blisters, and some elbo grease, it started. But it won't stay running for long. I know how to tune engines, that's not the problem. Now, about every 3rd pull, the pull start locks up hard, can't move it. However, the crank moves freely, after you get it past the top of the stroke. Could it be the one-way bearing in the pull start? I pulled the backing plate and pull start assembly off to check the inside if the crankcase, and put it back on just like it was. I did use liquid gasket on it, and lock tight in all the screws. Could I have damaged it that way? I did my engine the same way, and it never did this. But it was and HPI 15 FE, a bit different, alot weaker. Any suggestions?

take the everything apart and clean your parts a lot. If anything dosen't look like it should replace it or send a pic of it here so we can look at it. Then when your done oil each part and put it back together
