Engine Running Too Cool
Im breaking in a new engine. THe manual says to get the engine between 250-350 degrees so that all the parts expand properly, but so far, its only gotten to 180 max. I think i read somewhere that if the engine is running too cool, cover the heat sink with aluminum tape so it gets hotter. Do you guys suggest doing this, or should I try something else? Why would the engine be running so cool to begin with? Im sure its not over-rich. Thanks.

RE: Engine Running Too Cool
no why would you want the engine too hot, it has to do it itself
lean it out and put the thermometer above the heatsink and check it

RE: Engine Running Too Cool
THe manual says it has to get really hot, and then you let it cool for a bit (heat cycling), so that all the metal parts expand to fit snuggly against each other. Thats why i want it hotter than it is. Thanks
