my r-40 uses a cyntax clutch, it seems to work well. if you need one for a .21 your options are bigger. mugen, hpi proceed, and many others

the hpi is like 35.00 and the centax 3 by i think serpent is like 115.00 why the dramatic price increas what oculd be so better or differnt?

To be honest I really don't know myself, I do know my truck has a regular 3 shoe clutch, and my serpent has a centax, and the clutch engagement between the truck and the 950 is like night and day.

Easy tuneability, adjustability, and smoother power transitions are what comes to mind when using centax clutch. As far as being expensive, not sure, but manufacturers will keep marketing as long as consumers keeps buying.

I want to get a centax clutch soon as i can my friend runs one he says it helps get you up to speed quicker without slipping[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

I run the centax clutch on my R40. Compared to a standard 2 or 3 shoe clutch I think it vastly improves accel off the line. If you're wanting a centax clutch you could just buy all of the parts that it requires to assemble the R40 clutch off of towerhobbies.com. It wouldnt cost anymore than $40-$50.
