RE: HELP! Grease all over my Car!
You probably have a fuel leak (HSN, Carb, Fuel Line) and the fuel spits onto your chassis and sits there and just forms an oily substance.

RE: HELP! Grease all over my Car!
I suspect your exhaust is leaking somewhere.
Modelcar full consists of methanol, nitromethane and... oil. The oil burns partly, but not entirely, so oil comes out of the exhaust side on the engine if not properly connected to the exhaust pipe. Also the exhaust fumes contain oil, so if you do not have a correct hole in the body, the fumes cannot escape from the car and all the oil will land on the chassis.
Or just be carefull not to spill any fuel on your car, the methanol evaporates but the oil certainly wont.
Try and fin out where the oil is comming from, to get a better idea. Maybe some lose screws on your engine (though not likely the engine would start at all)
What you think of nitro cars so far? Like em?

RE: HELP! Grease all over my Car!
thanks guys i'll try to find out where the leak is from. And could you help me configure the carburetor, cause i'm having some trouble. i just need to know which screw does what and what general combinations do, like if the main needle is open with the idle needle closed would give and things like that. So far i love them.....i got mine to at least 50 km/h so i'm happy with that. you got any tips to make it faster? thanks, i really appreciate your help.

The head gasket is the little gasket that is between your manifold/header and your engine block. The screws are supposed to be very tight and the gasket makes it so that no exhaust can escape between the block and the manifold/header.

Here are the pics. If you look at the first one you'll see that the chasis is really shinny, its covered in oil basically. Then the second one is the side of the motor, and in those gaps there is the same substance, loads of it. I get this everytime i run my engine. And the third one is a pic of my car, nice isn't it? hehe. Could you also give me tips of how to tune my engine, guides dont work for me damnit.

Looks like the backplate. Take off the pull starter and the backplate and then put it all back together with loctite and make sure all the screws are in.

How about taking your car to a LHS for a diagnostic look over. Should cost next to nothing if you tell them that all you want is their advice o the matter.
Now, did you happen to see any of this stuff "leaking" while it was actually happening?

RE: HELP! Grease all over my Car!
on ur 2nd pic there is oil around the carb neck, is the pinch bolt tight? check the nut in that pic, locktight it if it is loose. mine has a habit of getting loose every 3-4 runs - not a smartech car tho....

RE: HELP! Grease all over my Car!
Yup, sounds like that could be it. The fuel leaks out and all is left is the oil. The nitro probably just evaporates or something. Give you engine, carb etc. a good works-over. Change your gaskets, pipe fittings and re-tighten your engine/ carb screws... and your LHS should do this for a good price don't let them try to convince you that the thing is goner and needs major money to fix. [sm=pirate.gif] good luck.

oh right, okay thanks, i'll check that, if that wasn't tight then after tightening it there should be no leaks....and if there are any then that means....that there are holes in my engine! it better not leak......
hey does that nut keep the carb in?
