schreeching sound when pull the pull start
i am ready to start the engine and i pull the pull starter
it pulls and as it pulls i hear a schreeching sound
What is making the noise? it sounds metal
and the fly wheel still spins.
what is it
someone please help

It is probably stuff stuck in it or the medal spring is inside it is sraping on something inside. That is what my car had when I bought it I went through 3 they all broke so I got a Roto Start it helps a lot.

i took out the pull starter and i put on one of my older pul starter
there is still a screeching sound
if anyone else has a possible answer

umm take some engine cleaner and pray it where the string comes out of alot of nasty **** is gonna come out when u pull it it should stop.. if not then dont put a lubricant in there cuse then ur one way bearing is gonna slip

i did everything and it didnt work
i found out it was the clutch bell sliding against the flywheel because there wasn't a spacer between there so it would scrape.
