Hey guys I'm wondering, what engine mounts will work for the FW-05T for an optional engine? I can't find any Kyosho mounts for this car, so I'm assuming that Kyosho doesn't make 'em. RS4 MT mounts maybe?

Wahoo, just got my V-one-R from ebay....looks and seems pretty much brand new, was only a roller so had all the fun of stripping it down even more and then get all my stuff in it.
Only just got it all together tonight not had chance to take it to the track and try it out yet, so took a couple of pics while its all clean and shiny.

Anyone else still running one of these old R's? looks pretty much the same as the RRR, least this was a lot cheaper though...it'll do me for a while!

The VoneR is a good car if you can get parts for it, but is in no way as good as the VoneRRR in terms of box stock performance and handling. You'd be lucky to find someone running the R, but more would be using the FW05 R or atleast the VoneRR evo. Regardless of age, enjoy ever bit of track time with it![8D]

Cheers buddy, i hope to too, can't wit to see how it handles. regards to parts....well, thats to be seen yet, fingers crossed. Here in uk my lhs a big kyosho racer and dealer and reckons he can get all parts shipped over from france in like 4-5 days, we'll see when it comes to ordering stuff! I'm looking at trying to get the RRevo's wide front bumper, ya know...so i can put a lola body on it, i'll see if he can come up with that first.

THANK YOU FOR STARING THIS POST!!!

All i see is HPI this and Tamiya that.........rarely anything on Kyosho's!!

I just decided to re-enter the nitro r/c world coz I missed it too much (i used to have an 1/8 Inferno like 10yrs ago). I just bought a V-One SII that is completely stock (GS-15R engine, single speed,....). I thought it to be a good intermediate car since I'm only into driving in parking lots and want to work on my drifting skills.

First thing I'm gonna buy is a 2 speed.

I have a ton of questions about the engine....is it good? is it powerful? If i get a tuned pipe will it help on this engine or will it not make a difference? whats the pipe that comes on the car originally...its made out of metal n looks decent....is it a tuned pipe?

What are the pros of a belt drive over a shaft (I was told the belt is a faster car than the shaft driven cars)? I know the weaknesses....

I'll post some pics of my car soon.

Thanks guys!!

Yeah i know, we seem to be a dying breed, i used to have a RS4 but sold it for my voner not looked back yet, so much more of a car and didn't even cost that much, and it seems parts are easy to get too, have to get lhs to order them but only takes a week or so.

your story's strangly like mine, i've got a ten year old inferno which i've dug outta the shed, junked the engine (gs21...urgh) and bodged a novarossi 5port in it and whacked on some foams and it fly's like billy O!

But since getting the rs4 found it wasn't enough for racing and went for the Vone, will see how that fairs when the season starts back up.

Post some pics up of yours....

If you like it that much, update it and get the RRR wce thats what i may do, but don't see the point at the mo, there doesn't seem to be so much difference to warrent another £300 yet.

Yeah i'd def get a 2speed for it , pretty sure kyosho do a conversion, find a part number and get your dealer to order one in, that seems to be the only thing when ordering, if you dont know the number they can't find it easy.

engine wise...not sure about yours, dont think the gs15 is amazing, mite be quick enough for parking lot playing, but you'll need a nice fast engine eventually, Os 12 TZ will do nicely.

Belts over shaft? not sure either, i prefer belts just for looks sake and more feel, seems to drive different, but thats prob just the car, for parking lots shafts are prob better as wont get chewed up like belt do with gravel.

have fun and enjoy it.

Adam

Hey D you still usin that JP? Is that the modified vs for like $414 or so? What's the price of a rebuild? I saw one guy selling one for $175 and was looking for a backup motor for say if I venture to Maryland, but I think the Carlsen OS I have may do just fine.

That's the modded 5 port jp, Chester has it now and i've been running the sirio for the rest of the season. Jp rebuilds are gonna be really expensive but you can interchange with regular novarossi parts, just make sure the cranks in good shape, the button is good and that there is no rusting.

Sounds good. We have the STI sirios here and been having great feedback with them. The guys mostly use Sirio plugs, properly shimmed it and never had any conrod issues. I'm still gonna run my OS for now.

New engine dropped in my old boy, nothing like for fancy JP's or rossi's, but hopefully it will do me in getting into racing, LRP Z.12R Team spec 2, quite high power rating, not sure if 1.58hp will be dyno'd though....anyone used this engine before, seen a few ok reviews so far, but not even got it fired up yet so time will tell.

I haven't heard too much about these engines. Try it out and let us know how it works for you. I'd too like to know how they run.

Here's a few pics of my car finshed and ready to race, all painted up...not all that well but, ok?! Had chance today to take her out and have a little play, all finshed running in now and man that LRP mill flys, really powerfull and instant take off, much better than my old Picco XP-12, oh...ignore the RRR stickers, all i coulf get easily.

Really happy with everything so far, car seems to be reat, v'impressed with damp tarmac handling too, seemed to cope fairly well for an old car.

Won't be long till I can get back into racing properly now, well hopefully...my local track has been there about 20years and about 5 years ago it had a housing estate built next to it, and suprisingly the neighboors don't like the sound of screaming nitro's racing around and the council is looking at closing the track down, so may need to find somewhere else to race, pity as its fairly close.

Shaft driven cars are slowly being out dated by the beltdrivens. Cars like the V-One-RRR will eventually take over if not already.

Hi,

I would like to know if this engine’s shaft http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=L3M064&P=SP is the right one for the Kyosho FW-05RR clutch. The kit version.

Thank you.

Hey to everyone who has a FW-05T plus can you let me know if you are running into any problems with it? I am going with either this model or an HPI Nitro RS4 3 188SS and wanted to see if any one had a comparison between the two. Leaning towards the FW-05 since I am a big Kyosho fan but just wanted to see some other thoughts out there. Thanks!

All novarossi pipes will give you more top end. pipes like the Rd Logics turbo III will be all around good power band. Just go with the RD Logics
