Be very easy on the throttle when warming up the engine, also plastic parts break easier when it's cold outside.

RE: The New Official R40 Thread
Sab they cancelled today, but me jamie and many others were out there for the full day racing when the sun came out, and the track dried out. I found out what the problem was with my engine finally. They did the trophies based off of how you did during the qualifiers. I placed 7th in the A with an engine that had no more than 3/4ths throttle. [:-][:-]

Yeah I read the results. I did rather well with the OS .12TR. If only my car didn't crap out on me things wouldn't have happened. I might go back to the 2 gear diff as I had better results with it. Either way I'm selling it. It's all Mugen next yr for me.

RE: The New Official R40 Thread
LOL, the price is cheaper on the website. I do like the Kyosho though. Both are the same cars from what I see or are similiar. One of the other guys who runs a Kyosho extensively even steered me towards the Mugen not due to race events, but overall durability and parts access. Not sure though what I'll get as I'm kinda waiting to see if prospec versions are going to be release. I'm amazed at how many OS engines there were for sedans though.

RE: The New Official R40 Thread
Yeah the Speeds ae good but on big tracks they just don't have the fuel eco, plan on flaming out right before the line. It shows they did not put in enough research when modding it. Power is not the only thing you improve when making cuts on an engine. There are so many other factors. For the mugen parts access you are right. Mugen has better availability in the U.S. than Kyosho. But both cars are extremely durable. Don't forget, before you make a decision, the MTX4 AS YOU SAY MAY BE LESS EXPENSIVE THAN THE RRR, BUT... COMPARE KYOSHO PART PRICES TO MUGEN, AND HOW MUCH MORE YOU GET FOR YOUR MONEY FROM Kyosho. What was the price for the RRR that you found?

I was checking Brooklyn Hobbies site. That is true about the Kyosho you do get more parts for the $$ in the bags. I might consider it. I've seen em for $389 or so.

LOL just kiddin, whichever car you choose I guarantee you will be faster with, it just so happened that i became Faster with the RRR, Maybe one of these days I'll let you take a lap with it.[:-][X(][X(] The worlds kit yo can get at brooklyn for 399.99, which comes with one piece engine mount, front and rear graphite shock tower, light weight 2 speed hub, aluminum hexes, sp drive belts, and universals all around. You get you bang for your buck.

That is true. I was thinking though some parts off the 8th does fit the MTX4 and the other way around. The Kyosho does seem interesting, but I like to start somewhere and tune if necessary. One guy was surprised how I ran a mostly stock R40 and the OS .12tr in the track. The Slowest motor there!

RE: The New Official R40 Thread
yea, why in the big races like ROAR does no one race R40s? is there sonething wrong with them? i like mine, but i also like to have a unique car to be proud of, and thats part of the reason why i upgrade it.
