18ss + for sure. Smoother engine, heavy duty parts, fibre brake and sport suspention...so you brake better, corner better and you can use foams cause the heavy duty shafts can handle that pressure.

Every car has problems, it's just experienced people know how to get around them and don't moan about it. Due to the number of starters in the hobby buying the runaround cars like the HPIs, the problems should be highlighted and solutions provided for those who don't have the experience to solve them on their own. As for what's a better car...think about it, they are the same price, except one comes with radio gear, servos, fuel bottle, accessories etc, and one is just a kit and an engine.

So then the kit is better to get I have servos and I could get a receiver for cheap and problems I could deal with it, it will definitely not be like the warhead so I don’t mind a few problems

I haven't read the thread of all reported problems, but the only issue I've ever had was that the fuel line was a little too close to the pinion gear for my liking, and that takes a whopping five seconds to fix. I'd go with the kit because you're getting the better drivetrain parts right off the bat, and plus you have the fun of building the kit yourself.

gpx4 is the only belt driven car I've ever seen with non centered fuel tank and vertical engine alignment...that makes me suspecious about inperfection at weight balance...! It is obious they took a normal car and tried to convert it in to race belt driven car which is impossible...I dont think that it can compete against any of the 18ss I've seen in this forum...RTR with a .12 preinstalled...hmmm...non competition .12...might be just pathetic...not even close to nitro star 18ss, or OS cv series...! If you fill my car's tank, mount te batteries and lift it with one finger from the center of its handle it will perfectly balance...that's why I insist in quality. Gpx4 looks like a cheap thunder tiger TS4 replica...sorry man but I wouldn't buy it. I mean come on just look some pics of it...chasis aluminium is not even anodized!!! Plastics look like old toys! At first I thought it was good but today I zoomed some pics of it more....I recall even evo should be better than that.

The RS4 fuel line setup is terrible. If you dont route it correctly the line will get clogged with the clutchbell gears.

I dont like how the servos and radio tray are arranged.

The 3.0 and 18ss both have 0.18-sized motors, so they're the same size. I don't know (but you can likely look it up easily) how they differ in maximum RPM, power, torque, etc.

RS4 fuel line is just fine...hold it with something and it will never cause problems. Kit's nitro star 18ss engine(2.95cc) is 0.06cc smaller than the G3.0 (3.01cc).18ss produces more rpm than the G3.0 and better mid rpm linear torgue. HPI claims 2.2hp out of the G3.0 something that is simply impossible from a stock side exaust, and non slide carb .18 engine. If it is faster than the nitro star 18ss then why EVO+ has the same gearing as 18ss? Why at top speed table the 18ss kit is still the fastest car (except from proceed and R40 that do not include engine in the kit)? G3.0 disagrees with the standard module... .18 means 2.95 not 3.01. Why 18ss+ which is a better car than EVO+ is equiped with nitro star 18ss engine and not the G3.0??? 18ss+ is newer than the EVO+ and still uses the N.Star engine...It is better, that's why!

Ok thanks GYNAIKAS for the explanation and all but you get me all confused and all so you’re saying that the kit has a better engine? the main reason I am asking this is because a bunch of use are getting rc nitro on road car to race in the parking lot and one all the other guys are getting the rtr rs4 and I want to get a faster car then them lol

It's very simple dude, think about it like this: the two cars are the same price, except one has radio and everything else you need to get it running. The extra money you are paying for the 18ss as a rolling chassis with engine, is for the hop ups and the slightly better engine. The 18SS is the better car, full stop.
