3rd channel unused...any idea?
Hi everyone! I'm using Sanwa gemini II radio especially designed for cars and racing boats. It is a 3channel radio and I'm using the 2 of them (steering and throtle/brake). I recently got obsesed with the idea tat I have one channel unused and I've decided to use it...any ideas for a smart modification contoled frm the radio? My first thought was to install lights (stoplights controled wen brake applies and front lights controled from the 3rd channel) but it sounds very simple to me...I need something insane...open your minds and spit out ideas

Whats goin on G.
I used the 3rd channel on one of my cars for the lights in the front of the car and when I got ready to pass someone, I would flash them. It looked great and got great laughs from people when I did it. Almost like telling them to get out the way.
Another thing ive seen was a servo hooked up to a onroad buggy in the rear and the guy would lower the servo horn which was hooked up to some kind of metal piece and it would drag on the ground and spark. This thing would leave sparks 10feet long.

How do you hook up your 3rd channel to lights? Don't you have to use a servo in the 3rd channel? And if not, how do you use it to hook up a switch?

nah, you dont need a servo there. It just works of the same current that powers the servo, the only thing is the battery doesnt last as long on a charge.
G, making it open the tank works too. As a matter of fact, when you open the tank, it leans the motor out as well. Maybe you can use that to you advantage. But also think about the sparky thing. When someone is trying to pass, you can set their car on fire.

How about an electric motor atatched to the spur gears so that you can bring the car back to you when it flames out? Will it work without much weight addon?

that would be very cool, i love the hybrids, a problem though, is that u would need an esc too, and if u use the reciever pack, itll use a lot of battery,

I was thinking of a 9V battery and a motor just strong enough to move the car at 4-5km/h just to manage returning it to the pit lane without walking ...omg I've become so lazy lately...

Maybe you can do something to cut power to the front wheels?
So that if you win the race, you can do a few RWD doughnuts?
What about a Nos hit if possible?
Or maybe hook it up so the servo pinches the fuel line either to stall it or give it one of those lean out burst of power
How about, 3rd channel that has a horn and working pop up headlights?
