Default first timer needs help!

I just purchased the team associated from a guy at the lhs last night, It came minus engine, radio and battery pack, I had an engine sitting, and it fits in just fine, it is a megatech 16, I know it is not the best but it was sitting on my shelf, I also have a radio out of a t-maxx and I was wondering if it would work in mine since all it does is control the same type of servos, I am not sure though, please help with this one. Over all I paid 20$ so I won't feel to bad if I have to spend some money, any recomondations would be helpful.

As long as you have all the stuff servos rx tx batt holder and an on off switch you will be fine. just make sure you only use channel 1 and 2 when u plug in the servos.

alright thanks for the info, also I plan on getting a different engine after I get used to a car, I pulled the megatech out of a t-maxx because it was weak and I think I might run into the same thing here, The guy before was running a novarossi engine and it was supposedly pretty quick, but I only want to spend $150, any suggestions?

I don't mean to question but in alot of the other forums people are saying that .12s are better than .18s because they hold higher rpm and get there faster, is that true and if so what would your recomendation be on a .12,

I dont know too much about .12 engines but that thay do rev higher and thay are fast, but they also seem to be and are the only legal race engine size in the pros. that being said thay do cost more and usally need a starter box. there are some cheaper ones out there but thats I dont really know about them to much. I am gettting ready to pick up the picco red dot its about $180.00 at nitro house they have the older picco .12 for $120.

The picco is an italian made engine like the novarossi right? I think I have heard good things about them if they are the ones I am thinking of.
