Default tranny type

which type of 2 speed transmission is better and why? Cam and Lever or the clutch shoe type

Well..why do you ask?
Given the choice i would choose a clutch type arrangement as(invariably)this will provide easier adjustment and also a softer engagement point when compared to (what i would call) a dog clutch.

Clutch shoe type is easier on the drivetrain.

I also prefer shoe type clutch.
