Default Any nitro FWD cars out there?

Are there any nitro powered FWD/front engine on road cars out there?

Would be especially cool if they had 2 or 3 speed gearboxes

ive tryed it FWD on theses little cars SUCKS.......there isnt a good amount of weight in the front so for the most part they just spin out an basicaly go no where..........

Yeah I've done it too, but, imagine a car designed from factory to be FWD
it would have the motor over the front wheels, and most of the weight at the front instead of the AWD, where the motor is central to rear
Of course, the engine in one of these wouldn't be a screamer + high gear ratio's to keep wheelspin down a bit

Well...I think there's no reason for something like that to happen...

Then it would just understeer terribly through the corners... The only reason you would want a RC car to be rwd or fwd is for novelty purposes or as a shelf queen so it is fwd/rwd just like the real thing.

Or a speed car...

Tamiya made a FWD electric that got ban from racing because it handled so well.

Yes, but his idea is to put the heavist part of the car directly ontop of the front wheels... Its slightly different I think. And besides how long ago was that? I'm sure that if they were to produce a FWD car in these modern times that it would be far outclassed by 4WD cars.

That was long time ago, when racing electrics were RWD and it was hard to fight against oversteer and overpower. The FWD car had no oversteer and that's the only reason It handled better. I've read an article about that. It would never stand a chance against any 4WD electric.

I don't think it was that car...or maybe the one I read about was a modified one...anyway It doesn't stand a chance against 4WD electrics.

Hey GYNAIKAS, I remember back in the day my good friend had a front wheel drive car (electric) and if Im not mistaken it was a tamiya?? Actually I think hes still got it and it still works. This was way back though, were talking early 90's. Im calling him right now to verify. Ill get back to you guys on that.

As far as control, the car was fast but all over the place. I mean, if you look at the car now it looks very outdated obviously. The technology has come a long way since then. I would have to agree with you though that against any 4wd car now a days this poor thing will get hung out to dry. Ill see if I can also get some pics of the car!

-cheers
