Neither of those cars will drive offroad well (if at all) and CERTAINLY won't be able to make small jumps, atleast without breaking something. I don't know that much about offroad cars but I'm pretty sure there aren't many 'rally cars' about. I think you what should be looking at is a buggy of some type.

One is for sure...forget the fusion for rally game! Go for the inferno GT. A better choice would be a landmax 1 or 2 but they are discontinued...

EDIT:Landmax is MADE for rally game...check my garage...

The Kyosho is an absolutely IDEAL happy medium between on-road and off-road. It's basically a 1/8th buggy with a 2 speed instead of a centre diff, shorter arms, road wheels and a sedan body. Jack up that suspension and it will make a great rally car. Shame the bodies aren't scale, that's the only thing that annoys me about the Kyosho, bodies look like cartoon characters of their real life counterparts.

im really leaning toward the inferno...how does it handle? o and btw im not worried about breaking it on jumps as i will modify it to take jumps better.... i already have a track that moves from dirt to pavment and the jumps arent steep. i run my jammin x1 cr on it all the time but i eat away my soft tires on the pavement section...so me and my friends are gonna invest in cars to make into rally racers and we are all getting differnt cars to see who can make the best..

I insist...the best solution (also a more solid and durable construction) would be the landmax 2...check the e-bay.

As the guys above have said the Fusion is no way a tough nor rally type car!
So you have the Inferno GT...i don't have one but by all accounts it's an excellent car albeit (as Foxy said) a slightly oversized shell.Others worth checking out would be the Thunder Tiger ER1,Ofna GTP(needs two speed) and the Ofna DM one(easily converted to your needs)....Having said that personally i would buy and convert a buggy, start with a good buggy add the two speed, new shock towers(poss. shocks),body and tyres and your away.

yup, tighten the shocks on the inferno, raise the body, and you're ready to go, the steering is much like a buggy with a strong servo, if that helps.

To reiterate the Fusion is in no way an off-road/rally car.

I have 2 IGT, it handle pretty good with the Ofna onroad tire or the GRP onroad tire for buggies. The stock tires are great for drifting, but it only last me 1 day of fun. I'm having a lot more fun of my IGT than my fusion, 4tec, RS4 2&3 and TC3. Now all of my 1/10 onroad are for sale except the NT1.

I think you don't need more proof to go for the GT!

i think i might go with anthoops idea of converting a buggy to rally..i have a lx one i dont use and i have a 2 speed for it...i gonna get medial pro tarmac 2 tires...ace ds1015 steering servo...medium springs...lower to the ground...rally theme body...i think that would save me a few bucks.

I think that kind of converting is gonna be easy...themajor problems may be fitting a WRC body...

i agree with gynaikas cause buggy has longer arms than the rally game car, and i dont think you like your tires sticking out of the shell. that would look ugly .

you need two body mounts in front which buggy dont have. and unstable body shell will make your car flip cause the body will touch the tires.

Exactly! But why you need a rally so desperately when you own a buggy? It doesn't make sence..If you need a rally go for an iferno GT.

C'mon guys fixing a few body posts on wont be that hard....drill the towers (if your not making new) and attach them there. If the shell is a problem (ha try the inferno shell) just get some shorter arms!? No?
Yes the igt is a nice car...but for next to nothing this guy could have something he's happy with plus he has achieved something in making it!.....and if things don't work out then buy an igt....what's he lost?

I would recommend an HPI super nitro rally. As the name implies, it's built for off-road action. Essentially, its an HPI rs4 MT with sedan wheels. Very fun, especially on loose dirt and short (2") grass. Stock engine is kinda puny, nice upgrade to O.S. CV-R. Hard to find nowadays though...
