Default XR80 starter system

hi, heres a pic of what my engine's back looks like and the starter motor that i have. the One-Way Bearing on the starter system went, so i had to drill it out. now im stuck, because i cant find any bearing to fit in there (at least not one that is strong enough to turn over a big block). i tryed a small bearing from hpi which starter slipping after the first few turns. so that didnt work.

i know ppl have changed their engine mounts, lowered the engine and got a starter box, but i really cant do that because i dont have the money.

So, does anyone have any ideas on what i can do? is there a strong bearing i can get? or is there a way i can convert to a pullstart (since i know the newer XR80s come with a pullstart)? thanks!

Get a big bearing capable of turning over the big block and then find a way to convert the shape of your starter's edge in a one that will fit the bearing properly...maybe some kind of adapter can be easily made.

I'm afraid you'll have to work with metal. Or first find the part that fits the new big bearing and then somehow atatch it on the roto start's edge.

do you know those wrench bits, that pop onto the wrench? did you try finding something like that, that would fit?

doing anything with this stupid starter system is just too much of a hassle and in the end the bearings are gonna go anyways. i ended up buying the Pull Start conversion kit. its an awsome kit, comes with everything u need including a pipe and header. (the header is longer and the pipe has a bent stinger). it was $100. and personally ive been more than happy with all my pull starts so far. have had 3 pull starts for my 3 onroad engines for my RS4 2. none ever snapped or gave problems. thanks for the help anyways!
