Default Lightweight flywheel?

Hey guys,
Got a TGX with OS 15 CVRX, tuned pipe etc, and just wondering what the benefits and cons are to a lightweight flywheel?
I realise it'll have to idle higher, and probably be more responsive, but is there added acceleration and/or loss of torque?

It'll allow the engine to spool up slightly faster as there is less rotating mass, torque should not be affected. The main downside is a more erratic idle, although i've not found this to be much of a problem since i upgraded to a lightweight flywheel in my touring car.

That's correct. Also when clutch engages engine's rpm fall more than with a heavier one. That can be fixed if you adjust the clutch to engage ata bit higher rpm range. Generally lightweight flywheels do more good than bad to your car

So what are the good parts?
As I considered getting a lightweight flywheel on my real car but decided the loss of torque + engine rpm falling quicker wasn't worth the added response

But my car is 1020kg Vs the 2kg the TGX weighs so clearly the effects wouldn't be the same

What is so bad about the engine rpm falling quicker?
Will I notice an improvement?

There's no problem when the engine's rpm fall quicker during throtle release...the problem is when starting like i mentioned above. I think you wont experience any problems. Go for it...who starts his jently? Almost everyone hits at least half throtle when bashing! LOL If you have problems set your clutch a bit higher..that's all!

Ah ok, now I understand what you mean with the rpm falling... on take off...
I hit WOT everytime I run my car, there's no other way!

This might be a bit of an issue though as the TGX is a bit slow off the mark (first half meter to meter or so) and the clutch is loaded via a "rubber band"/O-ring so I can't really adjust the hook up point

Anyway, at the $11 US it costs I can give it a go

PS. With a heavy flywheel, and a really stiff clutch spring, is it possible to do a full blood launch and get all 4 wheels spinning on tarmac??
