Default What is a thrust bearing?

I was looking on ebay and there is this "thrust bearing" for my car
But it looks like no other bearing which is in the car. What is this used for?

At the 2-speed gearbox. It's mounted on the 1st gear's spur gear so that it can roll free once the 2nd gear engages.

Gynaikas thats called a one way bearing, not a thrust bearing. its just like a regular bearing just it lock one way.

the trust bearing is difrent, imagine a flat roller bearing that you can stand on and spin.
