4tec wont start
hi need help with my 4tec 2.5.it wont start i installed a new glow plug didnt help if i pour fuel into carb it will start but then die it doesnt look like it is getting fuel,if i try and start it then take fuel line off no fuel drips,i blew threw the fuel lines and they seem clear.and the motor has good compression,this car has been sitting over a year and ran last time i used it please help

so there is fuel going to the carb? if not look for cracks in the tank or anywhere there might be an air leak , also with that said remove the carb and clean it. after that i dont know.

are you priming the engine? can you see fuel running up the lines to the carb? try to start it with out the glow pluged in with a finger over the carb see if its pulling fuel? is the throttle opened enough to idle or start? is your fuel also a year old?

hi i purchased new fuel but still no start,its not sucking fuel in i tried putting my finger over the carb and over the muffler nothing any ideas

that sounds like a line problam, the line at the top of the fuel tank is conected to the pipe right? the line at the bottem it conected to the carb? is the tank door shut and making a good seal? if it's not pulling fuel it has to be in your lines

If it was sitting for a year with no after-run oil then the engine may have accumulated some gunk throughout it, so I would rip it apart, clean it, put it back together and try it.
