The rears are the GPR 44s ... the front's are Exceeds 26mm which look "kinda" similar to the GPRs but I wanted a skinnier tire up front being that only plan to Drag this car.

Well ... I started following this thread a while back PM'd Brent a couple times and this is what I came up with ... not sure how nasty she is but it is 1/10th scale and she does have a .21. Let me know what you think so far.

How are you doing Brent?? You remember the last time Ziggy use just one of these motors?? To refresh your memory it was twisting and bending the chassis all over the place and broke the engine mounts . So I think his chassis setup is going to need to be beefy to handle the torque and hp these motors can put out. And what you see is just a test platform for the motor not the final product. I wish him luck too as he goes after the Landspeed record for big block nitro cars.

well probably not considered "nasty".... but its 1/10 scale with a bigblock, and for on-road use only.....lol
HPIFirestorm with a Hyper .21 8port modded by Road Warrior on here, stock carb bored & venturi reshaped..and modified to use an OS remote needle, MAC's marine pipe modded (currently being converted to side bleed thus the reason its not on in the pics) Traxxas 2 speed, Modded OFNAshocks, Tracer 24mm wheels on front, Tracer 38mm on rear w/ Panther slicks (foam's no good on unprepped road for drag racing..).
Anyway....thats about it. Nothing really spectacular.. and probably one of the slowest on this thread (been just over 62mph with a little less power..) but its something different that only a couple of us have done, instead of doing Jato's and what not like everyone else.
my RS4 EVO+ is next on the table to get bigblock'd.

Nice, but looks real short on gear?!!? what are you top out at 40-50??? Im sure that motor could push way more than the gearing your using!

Firestorms werent meant for what the few of us have done with them. With the pitiful 4.11 diff, you are pretty limited on just how high of a final you can get before running into clearance issues with the flywheel & diff housing (the BEST final you can get is a 8.22 with 'bolt on' pinion/spur) . But right now, the truck is mainly to be used for 132ft drag racing so more topend isnt the main focus for it, as it will never go through the traps @ 60+ anyway.. but if it doesnt stop breaking parts on launches, then its getting redone...and i have a Rustler diff waiting to get adapted to it.. which will give me a way broader range of gearing options, ranging from a 7.39 final to a 5.19.

I like your Firestorm. But as I said you have alot more options with the bigblock jato. The adjustable springs help you launch and you definetly need a very good wheeli bar.

This Jato has the RBmodded tz18 with the revo gears and the adjustable clutch & I race with the clay slicks. Those are the street tires on it.

Nthekno.....How much of your gearing is all metal? My bro has the same thing without the metal gears. A jato with a rb 18tz. He has seen my truck run but will not bring his out to run them yet. My truck is almost identical to Fuel's except I realized that the 2 speed won't work because of the power it puts out on plastic gears. I gave up on it where as he is still trying. I had the 2 speed from a cd3 that works great until the truck hooks. I destroyed first and second 3 times. Then made a mold to make metal gears that worked but layed the aluminum teeth over on the clutch bell. So the cd3 will get put back together with a idm picco .21 now and the storm will stay a single speed with the modded hyper.
The cd3 project is about to start back up with the single motor. I had most of the stuff to make that twin 3.3 work but scrapped it due to expense and the gain it would get out of dual motors. 2 decent motors do not compare to a bad ***** .21. Since the trucks can be used every day and now that they are done the car will be next.

Fuel crazy....those slicks look like they've never been on the ground?

You know Marc "The Genius"?Carlo from CCRacing?
Sure the Jato has more options....but look how many people build Jato's. Why do something that EVERYBODYdoes. I can adjust the springs as well on my Storm... and already have wheelie bar, just not on in the pics.

I just don't see how the plastic holds under power or a high rpm shift while getting traction.

Every time i look a t top down pic of an RC car and see the 2 degree of toe in the rear tires, that's basically an industry standard, my brian aches.
I have taken that out of many vehicles and driven them just fine. In my opinion intentionally scrubbing the tires is scrubbing speed.
Does that setting really make an RC car more stable? I'm not knocking anybody for running it because it's the standard BUT am I the only one that's irritated by seeing it?
