Default Best drag racing engine

Im from VA and we do a lot of drag racing here with on road 1/8 scales. I have a XR/8 and a EVOLVA and would like to know what is the best engine for drage racing? we race 200 feet so that is what i plan to gear the car to but what is the best engine. And would a onroad or offroad motor be best?

Help me out guys.

There is only one engine. Picco .28 FTT with ABMods Stage 3 drag mod. Fit an RMV aluminium clutch, a marine tuned pipe and use 40% Nitro. POW!!

Its gonna take a lot more than a Picco 28 to beat me and Lou!

You think that will do it? 200 feet with a short stroke motor?

5 cars behind huh? Id like to know who those 5 people are, other than Lou, that are faster than me! LOL...who is this anyways?

You run what ever motor you want, I'll still take you to the bank!

I wouldn't be so sure that the 28's dont have the R's

here is a video of a modified OS 28 vs a modified Picco P9R onroad..both ion the same DM-1........ Not only does the 28 hit more MPH it also gets there much quicker... in a 200 foot run the AB modded drag 28 is not going to be beat by a .21 ...

Good point Super...in 200ft a lower RPM engine might be better. BUT, in that same argument, just because its a 28 doesn't mean its making more power. Only a top of the line modded 28 can make as much power as a top of the line racing 21.

But, all in all, a quality 28 with some work done to it would be a great drag motor.

you're pretty good at talkin' smack about my car...for a person who doesnt have a motor in his[:@] besides, what races were you watching that I got beat? You better wear your glasses when your car (finally) makes it to the line, cause if you slip on that tree, Im gonna tear that a** apart![>:]

BTW, i've had that body painted and out at the lot before anyone even saw yours. But, to be fair, your GT-1 body is sick as hell!
