this is my first engine with two adjustable needles. its a .15 fantom engine pull start. heres the problem. i can start the engine when the throttle is half open then right when i start to close it. it cuts off. my carb it set to open 1mm when closed. do i richin or lean out the low speed needle a bit or richin or lean out the high speed needle. or both.??????????

Sounds like maybe the lo speed might be too lean...Try opening it a quarter turn and see what happens. You might want to check how far it's open first and write that down. Close the carb. arm down completely, and gently turn in the lo speed screw until it "lightly bottoms out" (stop when you feel just any resistance, cuz if you turn it in too hard, you can damage the end of the needle, or the seat) Then turn it back out the number it was open + 1/4 and try running it . If it wants to stay running a little longer, you're on the right track. Seems like there should be something in the instructions about the # of turns...Prob. should be something like 1 to 1 1/2 open, but they're all a little different...

how do the needles acually work. they restrict fuel from coming in. high speed needle comes to play when you go high speed i know that
