Got the beast painted this afternoon, wife suggested blue, I wanted something different, but flat or satin finish. Wife didn't care about the finish, but said that since I pay more attention to the Jeep than her, she should at least get a color she liked. So I painted it 2-tone. Lagoon Blue Satin across the rear half, & Grape Purple Gloss across the front half, with the roll cage in Flat Black. Then comes the detail work. The seats will get painted flat black, I'll probably paint the gauges on, although Patches of Pride has the gauge faces as a decal, so maybe I'll look into that. I still want to turn the boxes over the shock towers into crates. I'll get some pics up later, after the paint dries, and I reattach it to the chassis.

In due time, the way I drive and beat on my trucks, it won't be long before the sporty paint is trashed, and I'll be painting it again, but for now it'll do.

Alright, got some current shots, will get better pics up tomorrow from the backyard rockpile. Still have a little work to do yet. In the process of making, or trying to make a scale Jerry can with the mount, might just have to find one. I want to make it so it holds a 9v battery to power the taillights, which still need to be put in.

The "crates", labeled BEER!, and TOOLS, are covering the shock towers, added a couple Pro-Line accessories, which even though they're supposed to be 1/10th scale, they look okay on here, well, at least the fire extinguisher does.

Still trying to decide if I want to paint the trailer, or just leave as is. Sooner or later, I know I'm going to make a mess of the current paint and will repaint back to a green, or not.

Made the Jerry can today to hold the 9v for the taillights, turned out ok, using a black shoelace for the holddown. Red shoelace is a towstrap.

Thanks, Rusted!, I picked up a WWE wrestler yesterday, but he's a bit too wide to fit, even though he's a 12" doll, so I took him back and picked up a Barbie for now. I'll have to hit up e-bay for a G.I. Joe. the one I'm looking for has a Mohawk, but that might be a Dragon figure.

Barbie loves her new Jeep, as you can tell from the poser shot. I finished sewing up the harnesses,( made from Shoelaces), they are attached to the seats with some snaps superglued to the sides. I had to move the one on the right side of the right seat a little forward because I couldn't get my fat fingers in where I wanted to put it. I also replaced the star cut foams with Proline 2 stage memory foams because I felt for the weight of this, the tires were flattening too much. You can see the difference if you look at some previous photos compared with the side shot today. The Jeep weighs in just under 13lbs

You can see in the second to last pic how much the tires were sagging, and in the last photo how they are now standing tall. Next time, I should have the sliders on, I have to drill some new holes in my frame for the sliders to sit where I want them to.

Thanks, Rusted. The tires had real good wrap around with the star cut foams, but it always looked like they were running flat. They still have the wrap around, but now they look, like you said, aired up.

I left a response in DWJL's thread, but in case you don't see it, How do you guys shoot a video of your RC's? Do you have someone else operate the vehicle while you shoot the Vid, or vice versa, have someone else shoot while you run? I tried taking stills, holding a camera and driving, and it's a pain-in-the-a**!

Got the sliders on today. Stock Axial SCX10 Sliders. I'm glad I used the Wraith skid, otherwise I'd have been making extensions to get the sliders out past the body sides.

Down Rusted, I know she's hot, but we have to remember she's a doll, LOL! I have the wife out looking for sunglasses, jeans and a Jean jacket for her. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing a hot blonde in a short yellow mini skirt!

Took Barbie and her Jeep out for a spin on the backyard course. Did pretty well, until the battery crapped out, so I am charging all the stick packs for tomorrows run. The wife wants to drive, so I'll try to shoot some video on my phone and see how it turns out.
Scraped a little paint off the right fender when it flopped over on it's side, and tore off the spare tire and mount, only had it glued on with Testor's Model cement. Reglued with epoxy, should stay put now...of course, if it comes off now, it'll take the rear body panel with it, lol.

Round 2, tore off the newly epoxied spare tire mount again, didn't damage the body, spare is going to get a mount made on the back of the roll cage where it can't get torn off coming off rocks...still working on getting a video. Barbie's gonna need a shower, back yard's a bit wet and muddy after Thursday's storms, but she had fun today.

Got some pics, but I can't get the video to up load from my iphone. the 3rd pic wasn't a poser shot, she drove into that position, and you can't tell in the 4th shot, but the left rear wheel has 2" of air between it and the rock below it.

More pics, had an OOPs! moment today, went to braze a new piece onto the existing cage for the spare tire, put a piece of scrap aluminum between Barbie and the hot flame (shoulda just took her and the harness out and off), but no, I was lazy, and burned her hair, so she's sportin' a new 'do, and I have to make another harness. I put the harness from the other side on for now.
