Default Rustler Crawler?

Anyone know if a rustler could be made into a crawler. I know clods are better but I'm 15 and a little short of funds so one of my old cars with have to do till summer comes and i have to get job so i can get my clod and start making the mod one. Also has any heard of turing a rustler into a 4wd one. I think it would take two gearboxs and a super rooster but I think it is possible ].

Im not too sure how much hope there is for you...Save up for a Tamiya(Clod/TXT)
stock w/lockers both are quite capable. Then when you have more cash mod it.

Try to find some longer a-arms that will fit and get some bigger tires and change you gearing. You can do it but it wont be the best but if you want a crawler thats how to do it. IMPROVISE

go down to a hard ware store and buy some quality air grade aluminum or wha tever it is called and make longer A-arms and buy some savage shocks.your rusty will by ugly as hell but it will be rock worthy.if you dont want ot do that find a good couple barrel fulls over head-sized rocks and your rsuty will be able to clib them with masher 2000's on.

long enough so that when the arms are fully extended with your new shocks they are about 1inch longer then stock. That should do but I have never looked at a rusty in person.

I have not crawled with it yet as i have not gotten a speed controller, motor, or spur and pinion gears. I belive it will be a good crawler for an indenpent suspension truck that is only 2wd. When i get it up and running i will update ya'll on how it works. I am in the middle of cutting my tires so that may also help it crawl a little better when i get the stuff i need to get it rolling or should i say crawling.

I'm pretty confused on how you decided on using a rustler for a crawler! I can't wait to see how the two wheel drive works, But I guess you'll never know unless you try!

It was the only car i had that was just laying around and I thought that with some parts form around the shop I could make a cheap crawler that would be fun to drive utill i could save up to get a clod and the chassis an esc, motors, and on and on. It is not my perment crawler but it will be fun to drive and play around with and who knows 2wd rock crawling may be the next big thing since it is more challenging than 4wd.

I see what your talking about, the only truck I have lying around is a stampede, which I'm also turning into a crawler (cantilevers and everything) with so far nothing but stampede parts. It's also 2wd until I get another pede' gearbox to make it 4wd. My friend said I was stupid until he saw the "prototype" of my front end!

good luck on the rustler crawler!
