Default clod elec. question

I've got a clod on a gecho chassis, stock motors, sport esc. when frt or rear axle is unloaded, loaded axle gives up. If you climb steep frt axle spins, rear axle stops spinning. any ideas? Do I need quality esc, or are motors tired?
