Default ZZMT crawler

I am in the process of making my zip zap mt into a micro rock crawler. So far I have added gear reduction significantly increasing torque and lowering speed. I am new to this but plan on making it so it can tilt the wheels for better climbing. Now I can enjoy some indoor tabletop crawling for those cold days lol.

Ok, I have made the ZZMT crawler with articulating wheels and it definately climbs pretty good for something running on a tiny pager motor. Next mod might be to put the digital radio in it that came with my ZZSE car.

here are some more pics, last ones are compared to one of my genesis's wheels.

Basically I sawed the plastic chassis in half leaving the drive shaft conecting the two halves so it still has 4 wheel drive. I also made it so the front wheels don't slip as they used to when they come in contact with something. I just added a tiny spring to the diff so it doesn't pop out of gear.

Here is the extension I made. I used some pushrod and glued the gears to it. Now it really crawls, but it still need some bigger tires.

That's really trick. Probably the smallest crawler I've ever seen. Nice job

Radio shack has them on sale for 50% off so they are about $13, motors and tires $6 for both and $13 for a zzse car needed for the extra gear. I'm not sure if the regular zz cars have that kind of gear but they are only $10 for a non digital car. Over all I spent a little over $30 for this custom zip zap mt crawler, not including supplies.
