They all work, and if they get to your house broken you can just email them and they should send you a new one.

I am trying to build a budget crawler, and wonder if there is a gearbox out there that isn't 1/3 the price of the complet truck

So you want something that will fit a 540 size motor and withstand high torque while having an approximate ratio somehere between 12 and 30? Because in that case only the gearhead motors stand a chance of surviving, and they only have one output shaft and are built for 380 size motors. I hope your budget is somewhere around 400 dollars because otherwise you arent going to end up with anything nice.

Best way to build a budget crawler that will not break is to purchase items that are known to work allready.

Trust me I've tried several ways to come up with something on a budget that works well. And the costs are way to much.

You can spend $50 on gears for a tranny that you are trying to make from scratch. Trust me I've ventured every avenue.

BUT that doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't try. There are many things out there that may or could work if found, tested and proven to.

The best budget crawler is a tlt-1. Stock they are a blast, great ground clearance, nice belt tranny, cog is great. It has everything you need for 100 bucks.

Whooops, did i mention you need a new chassis for it to be decent, a gear tranny, and tires?
