I want to build my own custom micro crawler but I'm having trouble making U joints. Ive been playing with various sizes of brass and copper tubing for the past 2 hours and the smallest U joint Ive made so far has a diameter of about 9 mm around the biggest part, when I try to go smaller the drill bits destroy the tubing or skate too much. I know TTTTs have smaller U joints but Im having trouble finding english sites that have any info on them. If you have any sites or techniques to share I would be gratefull. -- HWS

I played with this same problem!!!! For my full scale I used 1/4" socket swivles. The problem is if you are not straight you will cause a bind. You might try going to a fishing store and look at the various swivles etc....

Fishing swivels? How would you use those? Dont they just let your lure spin freely?
I also looked into socket swivels but the smallest I could find anywhere was 1/4", if anyone knows a supply of 1/8" swivels that would be awesome but I dont think they exist.
I did find [link=http://www.gtcfalcon.com/TDSMJ1.htm]this[/link] site which I will probably revert to if I cant find anything else, its a little bigger than I would like but they look nice and I can get double and telescoping joints.

go to www.atomicmods.com
Under the Radio Shack Xmods and the Kyosho Mini-Z Section, they have various CVD's that can be cut and used as U-joints, and are about 6mm at the thickest part, shafts are 3mm.
