Default Question about Reverse

Do I need a 3 channel radio to have reverse on one of these things.
How does it work?
Cause i remeber when i was really young the tyko cars all you needed to do was hit backwards on the throttle. Is it still same today or do you need a auxilary channel for it?
Thank you and info will help.

Default RE: Question about Reverse

On an electric Crawler the speed controller needs to have a reverse feature(Which most ESC do). Then all you do is hit reverse on the throttle input wheather its a trigger style or stick style controller..

What he said...3rd channel on the radio for a crawler is useful for 4 wheel steer. FYI crawlers are set up so that the brake comes on when it is in neutral so you dont roll backwards of forwards on hills when you dont want to.....

so if i have a pistol radio all I would have to is hit the brakes one the throttle and it goes in reverse.
Thats pretty simple enough.

Depending on your ESC, you might brake for a few seconds or brake untill you are at a full stop switching into reverse, but you have the gist of it.

Is this your first electric? You don't seem new to RC.....
