ax10 vs wk,,, new crawler
hey
i am trying to get into crawling
and heard that the ax10 and wk are great for beginner crawlers
my question is the would it be better to just get the ax10
and use electronics i already have (well i have to switch them out from my other rig)
or should i just get a wk 4x4 (assembled, no electronics)
and convert it to make a crawler
what and how much is needed to make the wk a decent crawler (nothin extreme or anything)
i heard the ax10 is a great crawler out of the box
so the ax10 is 210
the wk is only 140 but then how much is it to make the wk an actual crawler
thanks alot and sorry for the many q's

RE: ax10 vs wk,,, new crawler
I just got my AX10 last week and have been having a blast sense. It cost me about $350 with the motor and speed control. I dont know what it would take to make the WK a crawler but with the AX10 just assemble and go. There are many hop up parts for the AX10 that can be added later as you go. Mine is still stock and I think it does great. I do plan on some mods soon but out of the box it does great. I dont have any wheeling pics but this is what I have.

You're money is better spent building a Scorpion, and you get the satisfaction of building it yourself. The WK is ok, but to get it on the same level as the Scorpion, you're going to spend more money and more time tweaking and fabricating than if you had just gone with the AX10 in the first place. Unless you totaly dig the Wheely King, because you should always go with what you like first and foremost, but in my opinion, the Axial is just better right out of the box man. You'll spend a bit more cake, but its worth it.

RE: ax10 vs wk,,, new crawler
I own both, and I turned the WK into a crawler. I would recommend the AX10 RTR for your first crawler. Or, if you want to build it, get the kit and your own electronics. I put more money into the wheely king to get it crawl worthy, than I would have spent on the AX10 RTR. The WK crawls very good, but it was alot of work to get it there. If I were you, I'd pickup the AX10 RTR, and get a 55 turn motor and maybe some new tires, and try that out. Out of the box, it does very well.
