Default tire issue

i have my WK, and i want to stay with the stock tires. i modded the tread, but id like to cut the foams in a star pattern. is there any easy way to get the tires off without hurting the tires or rims?
i know that many 2.2 tires would do better on rocks, but im building my WK as a all around machine. so, i want to stay with the stock motor/gearing and speed. using smaller tires will kill the speed.

If you're trying to keep it as an all around machine then I'd suggest not cutting the foams. Star cutting the foams results in a ton of sidewall flex and if you were running around at any kind of speed the tire would roll in and cause the truck to flip.

If you still want to go with it then you may be able to boil the tires off. Do you know what your wheels are made of? If they're nylon then you should have no problem, if they're abs then I wouldn't suggest boiling them because they can easily melt and warp.

My wheels warped slightly when I boiled them. Not enough to be worried about when crawling but I wouldn't want to run them at high speeds.

ABS or Nylon? (or some other type of plastic?)

i dont know what the stock tires are made of, but i hadnt thought of all that flex affecting the running at speed. i guess ill leave the foams alone. making a "all around" truck means i have to make sacrafices somewhere. once i get my new servo mounts and high torque servos ill get to try her out and see just what my setup is capable of.

I don't know what they are made of, all I know is that they warp.
