Hey, Im currently into Nitro Stadium trucks and have been looking at getting into crawling! What good crawler can you recommend for a budget price? Can the Wheelie king be considered a crawler? Any pointers on how to build a cralwer track? Are they good for anything else? Like jumping or something? Thanks!

Don't even waste your money on the Wheely King. Get the RTR Axial AX10 or the Axial AX10 kit, you will be much happier with one of those. They are built for rock crawling, the Wheely King was built for wheelies.............

It sounds like you're just looking crawl in your back yard? If so then the Axial AX10 RTR is a good choice. The Wheely King can be converted into a good crawler but out of the box its far from it.
As for jumping, that depends on what you mean. These things were designed for slowly crawling over rocks, so you're not going to see one flying over seven foot jumps like a stadium truck. On the other hand if you were to gear it correctly you could probably get some speed out of one and it would be able to jump little stuff, but the problem is that once you gear it that high then you'll kill it's climbing ability. I say don't even worry about jumping and use it for what it's intended and keep your stadium truck for the jumps.

Cool... whats the cheapest place to get them? What sort of tracks do you build? Just a load of logs and bricks and other stuff could do, right?

You can really make a crawling area out of anything. Somewhat large rounded rocks works best, but you can use firewood, dirt, bricks, etc. Try looking through some of the pictures threads in this forum and you'll get a better idea of what everyone is crawling over.

As for pricing, TCS has the RTR version for $235, they also sell the kit and ARTR version as well.

A TLT is a great kit to use the axles from...but they Junfac crawler kit for the TLT is a hunk of junk. Get a chassis that it worth the money like the GC-1, or a Top Banana chassis. Also get the Axial tranny, you be way way more happy with it then a stock TLT tranny which is real bad for crawling.

I recently bought ax10rtr with the intention of it being a dual purpose truck. But soon found that crawling is really addictive. And I find myself wanting to work on it to make it better.

Your post was reported. This is no RCC.....this is happens to be an adult website, not a redneck kindergarten paradise. Personal attacks out of the blue now??? Frustration?? very mature of you! I guess my weathering was good enough to cause that effect. Dont worry my next build will not have rust so better think of something new to say.
