RE: Official Venom Creeper Rock Crawler thread..
im a little new to the r/c hobby and just picked up a creeper last week got it all together and running good the only thing i am haveing a problem with is finding a servo horn with the sugested 21mm between holes. i am useing a futaba s3305 servo and the most i can get with the horns it come with is 16 mm but than i got to drill the little hole bigger and i think that will really reduce the strength of the horn. so as for now i am useing the horn from my t-maxx which is a saver style and it to is only 16 mm between holes. can anyone suggest a servo horn the will fit my servo? thanks

RE: Official Venom Creeper Rock Crawler thread..
I picked up this crawler about a month ago and its really fun... when it works. Right now, I'm waiting for my second set of replacement axles since my creeper had over heat treated metal parts. I just got the remote diff locker in as well and am very excited to see how it works. Hopefully the axles will get here soon so I can get back on the rocks!

Take your time to adjust the remote locker. We are updating the kit to include a spring and washer to help assist the servo for a better positive lock action. You can do the same with a small spring +washer between the locker lever and wire guide tube. You need to adjust the tension/slack in the cable to get the servo to work right. Tighten the cable at the servo first then the lever last becasue its easier to work with.

Mine seemed loud at first too not grinding loud, just "stiff" loud. It broke in after so mant runs. but you could have a different problem what kind of loud is it?

You shouldn't have a problem running other 2.2 tires on these rims. When I bought my crawler I also bought some brand new Proline Chisels. Holly crap these things are awesome. I would easily put them up there with Panthers and Rovers. They sealed air tight with no problems. Mine was also quite loud for the first couple runs, it's been quieter and quieter as time goes by.

The Creeper has a very distinct sound because there are so many gears and there is a gearbox that amplifies the sound a bit. If things are smooth and tight at first then you built it right and you can just run it. If there is too much binding or a hang up then stop and review it and see if there is a problem. If there is a bad part then just contact us to have it replaced.
Be sure to use a light grease in the gearbox. Use a heavy tacky grease in the diffs.
One guy commented he thought my Creeper sounded mean!
