Anyone building rc pirate ship?

I'm referring to plank on hull type model sailing ship from days past.

Guessing you mean a galleon-type? Black Pearl sort of thing? Real pirates sailed anything that floated and would allow them to approach whatever they intended to rob.
It very much can be done, there are lots of square riggers out there. Some are sail powered, some are more like the movie props, with a motor and propeller hidden away.
