What can you tell me about my boat? (Pics Inside)
Hey guys,
I am trying to sell an RC sailboat but I know nothing about it. All I know is that it is an EC12. I don't know anything about the make or model and it doesn't have an owners manual or anything with it either. I am not big into RC so any help would be great.
And what kind of info should I include in a listing? How much do you think its worth? It had a sister boat that sold for $650 a few years ago.
Here are some pictures:

RE: What can you tell me about my boat? (Pics Inside)
Hi Jim,
The deck and hatch opening are typical for the Dumas style, but there are others that have used that type of opening as well. In fact I have 2 REYNOLDS molds that use that same oval opening and are still being produced as recently as yesterday. The fact that it does not have the non-skid and geometric pattern most common to Dumas would have me guess that it was a Reynolds boat from Orlando Florida, circa 1975-80 Were it any more recent it would probably have been equipped with John's aluminum mast known as GOLDSPAR in lieu of the wooden mast/boom. The fittings appear to be a mix of A.J. Fisher which were made by the late Bob Irwin at the shop he took over from his Dad in Royal Oak Michigan.
Good Luck with your auction, were I you... I would get a mirror and small flashlight and make scupulous inspection of the hull underneath any boards or mountings for any sign of a data plate or sticker that might supply information as to the manufacturer and the hull number. They are easy to miss even when you are looking for them.
