Default pro boat sanibel question?

I am lookin at buying a pro boat sanibel 1 meter and I wanted to ask anybodys thoughts on this boat, and I was also wondering if the transmitter that comes with it has a spring type or ratcheting throttle channel (sail control). it is not a big issue for me but I was just wondering about it. thanks for any info

The Sanibel is a 36/600 not a 1 meter.
Here is a good thread.

Default RE: pro boat sanibel question?

The transmitter does have a ratcheting throttle channel (sail control).
I found my 2 Sanibels on Ebay -- ones that were sold with "problems" --- great deal for around $100 each.
They both leaked when I got them. 1 took on about a pint
of water the 1st time.

These are the mods I have done so far.

1. Removed the deck rails and sealed the holes with a 1/4 inch wide white
vinyl tape.
2. Connected a push rod to the switch and extended into cockpit to
allow on/off without removing the hatch. I did have to mount the
switch more secure than doubleside tape.
3. Sealed the radio gear hatch with tape. I do open this at the end of
a day sailing to let any water dry out and charge the battery.
4. Replaced rear hatch with clear one to see any water.
5. Put a small hole on rear of deck as drain hole. I cover this with
tape when sailing.
6. I cut out the bottom of the battery tray to allow a 5 cell nimh
rechargeable to hang down. The whole tray is not stuck very well and
comes out easy. I glued part of a heavy duty zip lock bag on the
bottom of the tray to seal the hole I cut for the battery
7. Replaced the jib boom pivot line with a fish rig ball swivel

I have sailed in high wind and submarined several times with no water
getting in.
