I'm about to start my EAA Bipe and I have 2 engines available to power it. One is a Saito 100 twin and the other is a Saito 125. Both fall within the recommended size range. Do I go for the cool factor and sound of the twin, along with swinging a smaller prop? Or do I go with more umph and put the 125 in with a larger prop? This is my first bipe and I want to do it right.
Thanks,

I flew mine originally with an Enya 120 4-stroke and it was more than enough power, but needed a fair bit of lead in the tail. You could use either engine and do well. Given the two you have, I would go with the cool factor for sure. This is all about the fun, right? You can counter the high weight of the engine by moving the firewall in 2 inches. The airframe can take it. Mine has a 21cc gasser and it now and the fw was moved in 3 inches. The balance worked out fine.

When using twins they put out about 80% of the same single cylinder so your 125 is the one that has the horsepower . The 100 twin is equal to about an .80-.85.
