Default Old Cub

A long time ago there was a kit for a Cub that used dowel rods to create a scale structure for the fuselage and empannage. It had metal fittings fabricated where metal was used in the full scale. I want to say that it was 1/4 scale perhaps a little bigger. I found a fuselage of this plane framed up with some of the pieces missing. It has no wing or struts or anything like that, just the structure. I remember reading something about it years ago but don't recall any of the details. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

The Bob Nelitz Cub is built that way. It is exactly 1/3 scale and as far as I know was not kitted.
Plans still available from M.A.N.
