We are adding a larger HOG ROAST and a Pancake breakfast!

I have seen so many new projects this year and its going to be real exciting to see everyone again and there new planes!

As Paul modestly said, this is one event you want to attend!



ODP is of course the home field of the ½ scale Fokker D.VI, and is organized by the Fantastic Four of Paul Westrich, Joe Westrich, Barry Vogel and Gary Denzler - although this year Joe will not be attending (schedule conflict) - and add in the fifth member of the quartet: the remarkable Jeff Cutter, who handles loads of set-up duties each year!

ODP is a very scenic Dawn Patrol venue in the southwest of Ohio, at the Cincinnati Aeromodelers club field just south of Harrison, OH

Quicky update to my first post (thanks for the reminder, Paul)

Needed to mention Jeff Cutter, another key member of the "Fab Four" organizing the event - and who handles so much of the field setup each year.

And a note that as Joe won't be able to CD the event this year (schedule conflict), I'll be handling that little chore for them, leaving Paul, Barry and the gang free to roam the area unshackled by official-like encumbrances!!

I was planning on bringing my DRI but it went in last weekend due to a rudder horn failure[:@] It will fly again but not until an extensive rebuild. If I can bring myself to just come and sit and watch I will.

Dang, Anthony - I was looking forward to doing some flying with you this summer with Del's old "farm fokker" - just finishing up adding a red cowling to get it a bit more like Lothar's 454/17 (prepping like crazy prior to driving over to Pekin, IL this evening for tomorrow's Pekin Dawn Patrol). The two would've looked good together in the Jasta 11 schemes.

Glad to hear at least you will rebuild/refly your DR.I - those BUSA birds are pretty stout when they need to be.

Regardless, you definitely should come on out to the ODP anyway - I think you'll enjoy the visit.

Just back from Pekin ILL - turnout was light, but as usual they had a pretty good spectator crowd on Saturday. Got several flights on both the "Farm Fokker" and the FlyZone Albatros. Added the cowling to the Fokker, and am now doing my best NOT to fry the 1.60 - will see how it does this next weekend at IOK.

Hi Paul,

Nice event flyer this year..... I like the ODP event poster so much that I got a print made of it & I think I'll frame it on the wall!

Got the 1/3 scale Pup out & tested all the systems, including the paintball gun. She's ready to fight the Hun! Rule Brittania!

Uhh - I'm pretty sure that the Ohio Dawn Patrol IS the home of not only the half-scale Fokker D.VI, but also the site of the Fokker Scourge:

Just got back from setting up at the IOK Dawn Patrol - a VERY nice flying site the Airmaster have for themselves down here in southwestern Ohio!!! Hope to see a bunch of folks coming in tomorrow for the event.
