Compared to my heap... Lol. I've just had too much to do and too little time to do it to clean out my work shop. If my shop looked like yours, I would have to build about seven more planes to clutter it up again.BTW, the pitts looks beautiful. That color should really pop against the blue sky. Can't wait to see it RTF.

Excuses, excuses!! Have not accomplished much today. Went flying this morning, till noon. Then decided I did not like the stainless corrugated exhaust extensions, I don't know why. So I went and bought some aluminum tube and commenced to cutting. Unfortunately I do not have machining equipment so it had to be done with band saw and sanders. But this is what I have come up with. There should be no problem with the flow, I went to the next size up on the tube. I would have it welded up but don't know anyone that welds aluminum. So it will get ye ole trusty J-B Weld.

I'll post a pic after it's done. I have used J-B before for pipes and it worked out well. The only trick is to have support for the extension and the joint has to be sanded well and very clean.

Thank's Vincent. I just hope to be done and ready when the rest of the vinyl gets here. And preferably before the big one gets here.

Acerc,
Try your local machine shop, they should be able to weld aluminum for you.

I will be out today running around with the wife so I'll check with a machine shop. But to be quite frank if they want to much the $6 J-B will do fine.

Robert,
Another good source for getting aluminum welded is a radiator repair shop. The only sticking point is you are depending on someone else to get the angles that you want on the tubes. Easier said than done.
The Pitts is looking great.

Anthony the angles are set by the cut as long as it's pressed together. The joint into the canister is another story, but I can set that as well if I find someone. Which is not happening today. I forgot the wife is off and the day has been filled with shopping and assembly. Not done yet. LOL

Mike, fortunately the pipes are not visible in the cowl. The 3 inches sticking out the bottom will not matter as to stainless or aluminum. I just did not like the corrugation of the stainless. I know from my hot rod days one want's the smoothest flow possible. I think the aluminum will give much better flow.

Well, back to assembly. Wife's giving me those look's.

Well guys I got a good surprise today.  My oldest son told me come Wednesday at 12 noon the transfer of funds he is waiting on will be available. And that he is buying the Valach for me for fathers day. Needless to say I am one extremely happy Dad!

Well I hope all you "Try here" guys are happy. Four (that's 4) hours of running around, $30.00 gas, but I did find someone willing to weld it. And it was only $40.00 for his services. But hey! I did git er done. It is welded and in place.

Looks Great Robert,
Asking if he is going to video sounds like you are giving him the option, video is not optional on the maiden
Later!!

Oh I love it when a plan comes together... It looks super Robert, and just a few short months ago it was a pile of sticks! Those pipes look like fangs coming out at the bottom. Like it.

Thank you gentlemen, and I use that term loosely. And there definitely will be video, I like to use it to get a good look at the airframe. I like to either watch the video of the maiden or have someone else fly the second flight. Either way I get a chance to get a good look at the airframe to see if something is amiss. Not making any guarantee's, but Saturday we are having a family day and would be a good time for a maiden. Which I may do, it can fly fine without some graphics on it. Everything else will be done.
