I've seen photos of this plane on a European forum. It looks interesting and it is certainly an undermodeled aircraft. Any chance of getting it in 1/4 scale. I know that 1/3 scale is the hot thing for the dawn patrol folks but it is too big for a lot of us to haul around.

On the 1/3 sized plane what are you using for power?
Also is the dummy engine included in the kit?

Hello Bob,
The kit is designed around the DLE85 the firewall is already drilled and set up for this engine and we also have a custom muffler for this set up which keeps everything inside the fuselage. Of course you can use any similar power plant and we can supply the kit without the drilled firewall. The dummy engine is not supplied as Balsa USA has a nice offering for this airplane.
Prototype kit weight is 39 lbs balanced ready to fly, 124" span. Has been flying since 2015.

Vogel 605.. I suppose shoehorning a 62cc with belt reduction would be impossible? Might be a nice combination IF it fits

I know that nothing is written in stone. But how about a "ballpark" release date? Or a "Taking pre orders" date? I have a building table ready to go. And a 1/3 scale DRI that needs a wingman.

What is the cost and the measurements of the 1/3 scale? When do you anticipate a 1/4 scale size being available? Guys I have bought from these guys before they do great work!

1/3 scale kit is $1000 plus shipping, not sure on 1/4 scale as we haven’t started on it yet however it is going to happen. Span on the 1/3 is 124 inches, three piece top wing, plug in lowers , 39 to 40 lbs. ready to fly.

One thing I hadn't seen mentioned is the spinner.. Is that included? or an add on piece? I know as on the Albatross planes the unique spinner is always key to the build. Just thought I would ask.. a friend of mine wanted to know that immediately after I told him about the kit.. And I said "I don't know..I will ask"

That's good, the nose on a Pfalz is as distinctive as the nose on an Albatross or a Bristol monoplane

Wow that is a well stocked kit for the money. I love the pfalz. I have to ask though. How does the engine stay cool? It looks completely enclosed. I have an albatros DV and the engine sticks up into the dummy motor for cooling. Do you do the same?

cheers,
Dave

Hello Dave, yes the portion of the cowl infront of the engine has a square cut out with screen in in which is painted the color of your airplane, the dummy engine plate runs just over top of the engine and along with the side portions of the cowl creates a tunnel which funnels the air over the head keeping it cool.

The website is under development but it should be up in a couple of weeks. As for other kits, Barry and I have a lot of exciting stuff lined up.
