I'd recommend you folks try Larry Wolfe at Jet Hangar Hobbies. If my memory is correct, I think he bought the tooling etc.. from Jim Meister. I think he even released the kit for a limited run under the JHH name.

In fact this is the kit I have. I believe it was produced in 1993. I didn't know they were still in buisness. I was about to attempt making a mold from the abs one in the kit. I'd like any advice on this kit anyone has. I'm going to start as soon as my AP Gee Bee Z is done in a few weeks. Ive never attempted foam wings. It should be interesting. It is a great kit. Too bad kits like this are disappearing.

They make a beautiful cowl to the exact specs of your plane. I don't know if they make on for the SBD but it would be worth a shot. Can not recommend them high enough.
