Default Looking for a challenge?

Has the world of scale RC become just too boring for you? Are you tired of building the same old warbirds time and time again? Do you find there's just nothing left to challenge you after those 40,000 rivets you put on your last model. Two engines just aren't enough? If so consider building one of these -- in maybe 1/4 scale!

Too easy you say? Where's the fun in that, you say? Well, then, how about trying one of these versions?

Best solution for that kind of boredom is to "get a turbine". That will wake you up. I pretty much feel the yawns coming when presented with the ancient, lazy, antique segment. Too slow and unexciting. Kind of like flying a lazy ol' J3 as your only plane forever. Never could see the draw. But, to each their own.

The challenge here would be building not flying. On the other hand, anyone want to try flying one of these Zveno's while the balast under (or on top of) the wings are dropped -- or, as per prototype, trying to have the "parasite" fighter rejoin the mother craft in flight?

Still you're probably right about the shear pucker factor of flying $5,000 worth of dicey technology in planes with virtually no wing area.

I'm wondering..... what part of a turbine powered aircraft do you consider to be dicey technology?

Gary, I suppose I wasn't implying dicey-ER technology -- just more of it. Compared with WWI (and some Golden Age) models even the WWII stuff in more complex. And more technology just means more things to potentially fail. I admire the guys who are willing to master this technology but it's not for me.

Anyway, the point of this thread was just to offer up a curious and different modeling challenge that I happened to come across.
